The Challenge
To develop a warm and inviting brand identity for “Bonnie,” a new venture specializing in hand-knitted accessories and blankets. The goal was to visually communicate the comfort, quality, and handcrafted nature of the products.
My Solution & Approach
I designed a comprehensive visual identity that blends homespun comfort with modern style. The core concept was inspired directly by the craft: the individual knit stitch, which naturally forms a subtle heart shape. This “knit-heart” became the central motif, symbolizing the care and craftsmanship embedded in each piece. The resulting brand identity was very well-received by the owner and their family.
Key Elements
- Logo & Motif: A distinctive logo featuring the “Bonnie” script paired with the “knit-heart” icon, reinforcing the handmade, heartfelt quality.
- Custom Pattern: A versatile pattern derived from the knit stitch, used across various brand applications to create a cohesive and recognizable visual texture.
- Color Palette: A carefully selected palette combining “wintry coolness with the comforting warmth of the indoors,” evoking a sense of coziness and sophistication.
- Brand Application: The identity was extended to essential touchpoints, including business cards and stationery, ensuring a consistent and memorable brand experience.
